Microneedling

image 7

Microneedling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is a highly effective, minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment. It works by creating thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin’s surface to trigger the body’s natural healing response.

This natural process results in:

  • Collagen and elastin production
  • Improved skin texture and tone
  • Reduced appearance of scars and stretch marks
  • Fading of fine lines and wrinkles

At BioRejuvenate Wellness & Medical Spa, we use advanced, sterile microneedling technology to safely and precisely treat your skin, leading to visible, long-lasting improvements in skin quality.

What Skin Concerns Can Microneedling Improve?

Microneedling is one of the most versatile and highly effective treatments for a wide range of common skin concerns:

  • Aging Skin
Stimulates collagen to firm and tighten loose skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Acne Scars
Breaks down old scar tissue and encourages the growth of new, smoother skin tissue.
  • Uneven Texture
Smooths rough skin texture, enlarged pores, and overall skin irregularities.
  • Stretch Marks
Can be used on the body to reduce the appearance of new and old stretch marks.
  • Sun Damage / Pigmentation
Helps fade mild hyperpigmentation and sun spots by promoting healthy cell turnover.

How Microneedling Works

These precancerous spots often start small—sometimes no bigger than a pinhead—but can grow to several centimeters. Watch for patches of skin that feel rough, crusty, or scaly, particularly in sun-exposed areas. Some may be flat while others become raised or develop into horn-like growths. The lesions might be tender, itchy, or bleed when scratched. Because they can be difficult to distinguish from other skin conditions or even skin cancer, professional evaluation is essential.

  • Step 1 – Controlled Micro-Injury

A sterile device creates thousands of precise, microscopic channels in the targeted skin area. These channels are too small to see but immediately alert the body to begin repair.

  • Step 2 – Collagen Induction

The body’s natural response is to flood the area with collagen and elastin—the structural proteins responsible for skin firmness and elasticity.

  • Step 3 – Skin Remodeling

Over the following weeks, this surge of new collagen and elastin remodels the treated area, resulting in smoother, firmer, and clearer skin.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

  • Step 1 — Consultation

We review your skin concerns, medical history, and aesthetic goals to ensure microneedling is the right treatment for you.

  • Step 2 — Treatment

A numbing cream is applied for comfort. The microneedling device is gently moved across the skin, a process that typically takes 1 hour.

  • Step 3 — Recovery

The skin will appear pink or red, similar to a mild sunburn. You can return to most normal activities 2-3 days post treatment.
